Flexible mode switch on Slash GraphQL appears not to work currently

I used the slider on the Slash console to turn my instance into a Flexible one (for use with dgo bindings) and Alter commands return the error:

Alter is not allowed. Please switch your Slash GraphQL backend to flexible mode.

I have tried turning it to readonly and back to flexible and still the error persists. When I change the setting the instance goes down for ~30s so I am guessing the pod truly restarts.

Let me know if any other information is required from me - thanks in advance!

Update: Tried again today to change the mode out of flexible and back and it now allows mutations from ratel, so I assume it worked correctly. So either it works now or it randomly does not work.
