Dgraph.io website

Sure @ashwin95r . I will have a look.

@staff I have fixed the issue on mobile. I think the site is ready to go to prod. If you guys are ok, I will push it out before end of day today.

@pawan I think we can remove “community” from the discourse button and “DGraph” from “DGraph Blog”, as it is implied that it is DGraph  This will make the buttons look even/similar sized

@staff : Should we add a link form blog to the main site?

That’s a good idea in general (back linking).

Couldn’t see an obvious way in this theme. I think we’ll have to work on this theme to suit it to our needs – good enough for now, but over time we’ll get it in shape. Just put a task on Trello.

Yeah just added a task on Trello.

Also noticed that we could do with some meta tags to boost SEO.

We could add the following for instance:

Researched on this

  1. Adding the description tag. This doesn’t enhance the SEO but could result in better click-through rates when DGraph is searched.

  2. og:description, og:title, og:image makes sense if the content shared on Facebook. I don’t think it’s needed for us.

  3. For robots, the default follow, index is good. Any reason you mentioned noodp @koppula

We don’t want any entries from the ODP affecting our ranking.

Updated the staging website to have a Mentions section. The idea is to add links about DGraph being mentioned in social media. Right now we only have the hackernews post though after the press release we would have more entries here.

I am not sure about what is an ideal place to put this section. This could typically also go after the Work With Us section, though with the funding press release coming up it should be visible. Hence, I put it at the top.

Good idea! Maybe move it a bit lower to after the team section and before the work with us section.

I’d move it to after Work with us section, and before learn more. Because these articles in learn about us category.

I played around with the .ai files in Affinity Designer software and got our logo in the .png format. I have added it to staging(http://130.211.247.237:81/), but it doesn’t look great because of the background color.

I think a bit more work, like making the flash white instead of transparent and using solid orange/red color would make it look better. What do you guys think?

It’s a bit of challenge because of the background.

How about using the avatar scheme - white for the circle and red for the flash?

@pawan: How about if you remove the background wavy orange of the top part of the page? The logo might look okay then, on a white background.

Staging site moved to AWS on http://52.91.188.159/.
